The Teesdale Mercury's shop, in the centre of Barnard Castle, prides itself on good old-fashioned service and is open every day except Christmas Day and New Year's Day.

If you want stationery, this is the place to come. Paper and card from Southfield Stationers; pens from Parker, Waterman, Stabilo and Pilot.

Interested in local history? We've got plenty of books. Or maybe you are a keen rambler and want a map or local walking guides – our shop has plenty of choice.

There are gifts, Teesdale souvenirs, toys and a wide range of beautiful greetings cards.

Our friendly team’s aim is to give good quality service along with knowledge acquired over a number of years working in the shop. While we do carry a wide range of products it is also possible to order in specific items from our suppliers. Although we cannot promise to fulfil every request we will do our best.

We have a large range of cards, calendars and gifts now in stock at 24 Market Place. Call in to our other shop, Galgate News, where you can find a great selection of cards for all occasions. We also sell a selection of toys and stationery.
