A KUP grading exam took place at Butterknowle village hall for students from the Baek Ho Taekwondo club.

All students were successful at gaining their next coloured belt or tag.

These students all train every Saturday morning at the Teesdale sports centre.

Instructor Jennie Lee, 5th Dan, said she was extremely proud of their achievements with all of their hard work, dedication and commitment paying off.

A special trophy was presented to students Lily Crowe, Declan Spencer and William Jackson-Ward for their great Taekwondo spirit and attitude.

They will all receive their own individual trophy to keep too.

Meanwhile, club members took part in an Easter egg competition at the leisure centre.

Students were invited to take part and decorate a hard boiled egg or several eggs as long as they were to do with Taekwondo.

Ms Lee invited the senior instructor of the association, Grandmaster Bryan Whiley, 8th Dan, to judge the competition and then she presented large chocolate Easter eggs to the top three while everyone who took part received a Cadbury’s creme egg.

Oliver Hawgood came first, followed by Lily Crowe in second and Sophia Collingwood in third.
