CRICKET clubs in the dale are looking for the next generation of stars to sign up for two England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB)-backed training programmes which have proved popular with junior players.
The All Stars programme, which is for boys and girls aged five to eight, is now a well established way of introducing the youngest players to the game.
New this year is the Dynamos programme, which is aimed at eight to 11-year-olds and will help develop their skills further.
Registration for the two programmes must be done via the ECB website, with youngsters directed to their local club.
At Evenwood CC, All Stars and Dynamos sessions will take place weekly on Friday nights, starting at 6.30pm, and run from May 7 to June 25. The club’s Luke Bannister said: “We are now in our third year of All Stars and they’ve proved really popular.”
