TWO young Teesdale equine stars enjoyed success north of the border at the weekend.

Phillipa Sinclair, 13, a pupil at Staindrop Academy and Charlotte Merrigan Martin, 17, from Stainton Village, competed at the British Dressage Petplan area festival, which was staged in the Morris Equestrian Centre, Kilmarnock.

They competed in the final of the under 21 class.

Phillipa put in a brilliant effort on her pony Milestone’s Boogie to win her class, while Charlotte came second.

As a result of their efforts, both have secured invitations to compete at the national championship at Hartbury College next April when they will be up against the best under 21 dressage riders in the country.
