TEESDALE CRC members Rob Brown, Martin Bell, John Lumsdon, Paul Stables, Mark Brown and Graham Watson travelled to Brands Hatch motor racing circuit to compete in Revolve 24 cycling challenge.

This is a 24-hour event for teams containing either one, two, four, six or eight members.

One team member takes to the track at a time and rides as fast as possible for any number of laps before handing over to the next team member and so on until the 24 hours is up.

The dale team started by riding six laps for each stint which reduced to four near the end as the effects of high intensity effort and lack of sleep took their toll.

This was a fantastic team effort which resulted in them completing 198 laps, a distance of 481.734 miles at an average speed of 20.2mph for an outstanding eighth position overall out of 151 teams and fourth place in the six rider category.

On the same day, Bob Murdoch stayed a bit closer to home and travelled to Longfield school, Darlington, to compete in round three of the Cyclocross North East league fixture in the V50 race.

The course was dry and fast with several interesting technical sections, the highlight being a sand pit full of nice soft sand.

Bob had a good race-long battle with four or five other riders before finishing in a satisfactory midfield position.
