CASH BOOST: Money from the Co-op Community Fund will improve facilities at Middleton-in-Teesdale CC

CRICKET in the upper dale has received a boost after shoppers helped raise almost £2,000.
Middleton-in-Teesdale Cricket Club, which plays in the Darlington and District league, was chosen as one of the organisations to benefit from the latest round in the Co-op Community Fund.
The scheme sees the Co-op donate 2p for every £1 spent on selected goods, with shoppers nominating which organisation should benefit.
The club received £1,937.72 from the latest round of grants from the fund.
A spokesman for Middleton-in-Teesdale CC said: “May I extend massive thanks to all those Co-op customers for choosing the cricket club as their Community Fund beneficiary.
“Also many thanks to Tom and the whole team at Middleton-in-Teesdale Co-op for their support over the period.
“This will enable us to move forward with various improvements including renewal of the pavilion verandah floor and the purchase of improved Junior coaching equipment.”
He added: “In these current times this fantastic contribution will enable the club to continue to improve both their facilities and the quality of our senior and junior coaching programme by the purchase of more coaching aids.”
