A 12-YEAR-OLD girl from Barnard Castle is to give up her time tonight, Wednesday, December 11,  for a door-to-door collection to make less fortunate people’s Christmas a little brighter.

Teesdale School pupil Kailey Shann will be giving all the itmes she collects between 4.30pm and 6.30pm to the Influence Church's food bank so that people who are struggling to get by also enjoy the festive season.

She aims to start near her home on Montalbo Road, before moving along Woodside. Friends have also asked her to collect along Zetland Road.

Kailey asked that along with tinned goods and non-perishables like dried pasta, to also give treats such as mince pies, chocolates and biscuits.
