PRIMARY school children have helped brighten up a Barnard Castle estate agent’s office window as part of a seasonal competition.

Addisons estate agents hosts a colouring-in competition for primary schools in the area each Easter and Christmas, with the final artworks displayed in their office window. This year Staindrop and Green Lane primary schools were invited to participate, with the winner from each school being rewarded with a goodie bag of Easter eggs, sweets and pens and pencils. Beverley Campbell, who organises the competition, said: “It’s just something to brighten the windows a bit. We don’t have a lot of space but we try to get them all up.”

Property manager Melanie Wilson said the quality of work was good with many children creating Biblical themed eggs. She added: “You can tell the difference between boys and girls. The girls are always more intricate and detailed.”
