ROAD TO SUCCESS: Last year’s inuagural classic car rally attracted more than 70 vehicles

A CLASSIC car rally is to return for a second time after a successful debut event last year.
The rally, staged in the grounds of Barnard Castle School, attracted more than 70 vintage vehicles of all shapes and sizes and raised hundreds of pounds for the Teenage cancer Trust and the Barnard Castle Christmas Lights group.
Organiser Jonathan Wallis, who is also a member of the Christmas Lights group, said the classic cars would be back at Barney School on Sunday, August 14.
“It was a good first event last year and we are hoping to build on it,” he said.
“We have received a lot of good feedback and we raised a good amount as well.”
Mr Wallis said the event would again feature a ride-out, although it may cover a shorter distance and possibly involve some of the surrounding villages.
“It was a good event and it has spurred us on for this year,” he said.
