A FOUR-wheeled drive vehicle was seized by Durham Police at Stainton Grove following calls from concerned members of the public about the driver.

A 51-year-old woman has since been reported for driving without insurance.

PC Andy Marshall said: “We have had a number of calls recently from members of the public who have had concerns that this woman has been driving around without insurance so I’d like to thank those residents who helped provide this information so we could take action and take an uninsured driver off the streets. Driving without insurance is a serious offence and can have devastating consequences if a collision occurs.

“The message is clear –  make sure you’re insured or be prepared to face the consequences.”
