A COMMENDABLE compilation of reader’ photographs celebrating the essence of Teesdale makes up the Mercury’s 2020 calendar.

All photographs inside the calendar have been submitted by readers for the Picture of the Week feature.

The job of sifting through the entries fell to Teesdale Mercury owner Carolyn Vane, retail manager Debbie Welsh and assistant retail manager Leanne Allinson.

Ms Vane said: “We have had some great photos submitted over the past year, so we’ve had to make some difficult choices when selecting images for the 2020 calendar.”

Ms Allinson added: “Every year it seems to get harder to decide which pictures to put in and which to leave out.”

Images in the calendar include an icy Gibson’s Cave, the Market Cross at night and the reflections at the River Tees.

The calendar is on sale in the Teesdale Mercury shop and Galgate News for £5.50 and is billed as an excellent Christmas present for lovers of the dale.

Alternatively the calendar can be posted out to any UK postal address or £7.
