BIRTHDAY: Lynn Todhunter, Alastair Dinwiddie and Emma King celebrating ten years of Teesdale Networking Group

MEMBERS of a business networking group have celebrated ten years since their first meeting at Enterprise House, in Barnard Castle.

Teesdale Networking Group, which meets every second Wednesday of the month, was initially set up to help tackle social isolation often felt by home-based businesses in the dale.

Nine people attended the first event, held on September 9, 2009. Since then it has gone from strength to strength with more than 100 members on the books.

Lynn Todhunter, customer services manager at Enterprise House, welcomed members to the meeting and said she was delighted the celebratory event was so well attended. She added: “The group started to help home based business in the dale but we soon opened it up to others and we regularly get around 20 members at each monthly meeting. It was lovely to see some new faces as well at this event.”

Chairman of Enterprise House Alastair Dinwiddie said: “Today we provide the business networking meetings and as long as it is going to be as well attended we will provide them.”
