A SPECIAL concert is planned at Headlam Hall Hotel to raise cash for the Ukraine relief effort on Friday, May 13.

Hurworth Concert Band, a three piece wind and brass ensemble of players from Teesdale, will be performing musical highlights from West Side Story, Oliver! Beauty and the Beast and The Wizard of Oz.

Nicky Tullock, who will be performing alongside Vera Oates and Jane Woodwood, said: “Over the last two crazy years, we have seen how communities have come together to overcome the challenges the pandemic threw at us.

“Now in even more uncertain global times, people and communities are joining forces once again to find ways of raising funds for the humanitarian plight in Ukraine.

“We are all only too pleased to be able to be playing in this concert for such a worthwhile cause.”

The concert starts at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £10 and can be booked at email hurworthconcertband@gmail.com or call Ms Oates on 07483 876842.
