QUITE A FRIGHT: Sarah Gent, Alice Redfearn and Jonny Elliott from The Hub

THERE’LL be some spook-tacular fun on offer at a dale community centre this Halloween.
Artists, children and a host of others have helped create a frighteningly scary trail at the TCR Hub, in Barnard Castle, which will welcome visitors for three days, from October 28 to 30.
The Hub’s family activities co-ordinator Sarah Gent said those taking part are encouraged to turn up in seasonal fancy dress.
“There will be ten to 12 installations along the trail – it’s going to be great fun,” she said.
Those wishing to take part must book in advance for one of the hourly time slots, which run from 10am to 3pm on each of the three days.
The trail has been fully funded by the National Lottery, so admission is free – with donations welcome – and each child taking part will received a bag of Halloween treats.
Ms Gent said that with 150 people already booked, the Halloween trail was proving to be as popular this year as it was when it was first held 12 months ago.
Meanwhile, on Friday, October 29, the centre is hosting an evening of ghost stories.
Suitable for those aged 11 and older, the outdoor event, from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, also includes a supper of chilli, jacket potato and pudding.
The event is free, but places must be booked in advance.
