MUSIC fans of a certain vintage will be transport back to the days of new wave and post punk when a tribute band comes to town tonight.

Bootleg Blondie celebrate the sound and style of the group that took the music world by storm following the release of the iconic Parallel Lines album in 1978.

The tribute band, fronted by Debbie Harris, can even boast Blondie’s drummer Clem Burke joining them to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the album that spawned hits such as Hanging on the Telephone, Picture This, Sunday Girl and Heart of Glass.

Debbie Harris and Bootleg Blondie have played major venues and festivals around the UK and Europe including the Isle of Wight Festival, the 100 Club, the Hammersmith Palais, the Electric Ballroom London, and have opened for The Undertones, Slade, Hazel O’Connor, Bananarama, David Essex and Chas and Dave.

Debbie Harris also performed on two shows for BBC1 when she was picked from 15,000 applicants to represent Debbie Harry on Even Better Than The Real Thing, hosted by Paddy McGuinness.

Bootleg Blondie are coming to The Witham, Barnard Castle, on Thursday, December 5.

It will be a standing only event for the two-hour show.

Tickets are £18 and showtime is 8pm.
