Musical outdoor act in Whorlton will reinterpret the bard
AN innovative touring theatre company acclaimed for their fast-paced and musically driven approach to Shakespeare are making a return to Whorlton.
The Three Inch Fools present their outdoor production of Much Ado About Nothing on Thursday, July 4 at 7pm. It is taking place at Whorlton Croft Gardens.
Having made a name for themselves over the past five years as a company that creates vibrant and engaging theatre, The Three Inch Fools are embarking on their largest tour yet, bringing theatre to more than 100 venues across Britain.
Mary Stastny, who is helping organise the event in Whorlton, said: “We are delighted to welcome back The Three Inch Fools for their third visit to Whorlton and we are very grateful to Peter and Michele Bigge for allowing the performance to take place in their lovely quiet garden beside the green.
The Fools model themselves on the traditional travelling players and their tour this year includes royal residences such as Balmoral and Sandringham and stately homes such as Glamis, as well the gardens of Whorlton Croft in our village.
”People who look forward to their annual dose of Shakespeare outdoors might consider coming to Whorlton this July with their chairs and rugs to see this wonderfully talented company who write and play their own music for the shows and can make even Shakespeare’s most desperate tragedies very entertaining.”
Co-founder and producer James Hyde said: “A contemporary take on the traditional touring troupe, The Fools bring only what they need to provide an evening of entertainment – a pop-up stage, musical instruments, costumes and props.
“With the average Brit spending 90 per cent of their time indoors, The Three Inch Fools aim to reclaim the great outdoors as a cultural meeting point for communities.”
