BELOVED CLASSIC: The Box Tale Soup theatre company is returning to Whorlton to perform Wind in the Willows

A FOUR feet high Mr Toad will take centre stage in a childhood classic bound for a dale village theatre.

Wind in the Willows will be brought to Whorlton Village Hall by the Box Tale Soup theatre company on Saturday, March 3.

Mole, Ratty and the grumpy old Badger will all appear through imaginative staging, clever props and original music all brought together by award-winning performers Antonia Christophers, Noel Bryne and Mark Collier.

The adaptation of Kenneth Grahame’s much loved classic was commissioned by the Everyman Theatre, in Cheltenham, last year and is touring the north in partnership with the Highlights Rural Touring Scheme.

The chairman of the Community Association, Rod Dawson, said: “We thoroughly enjoyed Box Take Soup’s performance of Northanger Abbey, which they presented in the village hall last year, and had no hesitation in booking them again.

“We have high expectations of their production of Wind in the Willows and I’m sure we won’t be disappointed.”

The show is suitable for those aged five and above with tickets £10 for adults, £5 children and £25 for a family of two adults and two children.

Doors open at 5.30pm for a 6pm start.
