BACK FOR MORE: Cal Halbert, who closed Sunday Night at the Witham, in September, is back with a full show

START the new year with a few laughs.

That's the offer from Teesdale's Funny Way to Be comedy club, which stages the first in a series of midweek shows at The Witham, in Barnhard Castle, on Tuesday, January 8.

Newcastle-based funnyman Cal Halbert will be the headliner.

He made many friends in the town with an excellent short set which closed the Sunday Night at the Witham fundraiser – staged as part of the venue's £30k in 30days public appeal – last September.

This time, he will perform a full show – No Biz Like Showbiz.

Promoter Peter Dixon said: “Cal has performed from local comedy clubs to the London Palladium.

“You may know him as one half of The Mimic Men from Britain's Got Talent a couple of years ago.”

Tickets for the show – which will also feature a support act to be confirmed – are just £5.

They are available online at www.funnywaytobe.com or from The Witham box office on 01833 631107 when it re-opens tomorrow (Friday, January 4).
