DATE IN THE DALE: The Molochs will perform at Middleton Sports and Social Club

A MIDDLETON-in-Teesdale entertainment venue is fast becoming the go-to place for American bands on tour in the UK.

In the past month two American groups have made a bee-line to Middleton-in-Teesdale Sports and Social Club as part of their European tours.

And now a third has been confirmed to perform on Friday, May 31.

Los Angeles-based The Molochs, will be hoping to win over fans when they perform songs from their latest album, Flowers in the Spring.

The band, made up of singer songwriter Lucas Fitzsimmons and guitarist Ryan Foster, are looking forward to their first trip to Middleton-in-Teesdale which is part of a 31-date European tour.

The duo are touring in support of their latest album, which was released in September last year.

This was their second release – a follow up to the 2017 debut America’s Velvet Glory.

Both are available on streaming services such as iTunes and Spotify for anyone wanting to hear more from the band in advance of their visit.

Cumbrian-based Roisin Dubh will provide support.

The trio, made up of 16-year-old Molly Jervis on vocals and electric ukulele, her father Martin Jervis on bass guitar and Simon Dalton on cajon, will play a mixture of their own original material and cover versions.

Tickets for the event are £7 and are available in advance from Mike Carr on 07818 040066 or by emailing hairydogpromotions@gmail. com.
