BACK ON THE ROAD: The Hot Rods are bound for the TCR Hub, in Barnard Castle

LIVE music returns to Barnard Castle in August with a gig that has been twice postponed due to the Covid-19 alert.
Headlining the event at The Hub, in Shaw Bank, on Saturday, August 14, are The Hot Rods, who are kicking off a 14-date UK tour in Barney.
They are dedicating their Back on the Road tour to late lead singer Barrie Masters, who died last year.
Bassist Ian Dean will step up the microphone to take over singing duties.
Also on the bill are Department S, who are best known for their 1981 hit Is Vic There?
Support comes from two local bands.
First on stage will be Barney’s own About the Humans, featuring Andy Yeadon and Moray Nellis.
They will be followed by blues stalwarts Herbal Remedy. Promoter Dave Palmer said: “It is a great privilege to welcome such high quality musicians to Barnard Castle and we have decided to mark the occasion by extending the event to make it a four-band show with the addition of the two local bands.
“The show will take place indoors, however, should further Covid restrictions be introduced and prevent an indoor show then the TCR Hub will utilise its outdoor stage facility.
Doors open at 3.30pm, with the first band on stage at 4.30pm. Tickets priced £15 are now on sale via the TCR Hub website.
Mr Palmer said organisers also plan to work with a small number of pubs in town to provide live music in the town prior to the main event, with further announcements to be made in due course.
