HEADLINE ACT: The Little Big Acoustic Duo – Rebecca-Anna Hosey and Peter Lawson will headline their first gig at Middleton-in-Teesdale’s Sports and Social Club

MONTHS after teaming up with friend from music college to create an acoustic duo, Barnard Castle singer- songwriter Rebecca Anna Hosey says she is thrilled to be headlining their first event in front of a home crowd.
Rebecca-Anna Hosey and musician Peter Lawson have been friends for years, having met at college, but only decided to partner up on stage as Little Bigs Acoustic Duo at the beginning of the summer.
The name refers to the difference in height between the pair and since hitting the road they have been inundated with requests to perform at a variety of venues.
Ms Hosey, 21, who is in her final year at New College, Durham, said: “We’ve talked about getting together as an act for quite a while, but it was only at the start of the summer that we did.
“It’s been great, because we’ve been friends for so long everything just clicks on stage.”
Now they are to headline an evening at Middleton-in-Teesdale Sports and Social Club on Saturday, November 6.
She added: “We’ve been performing a mash up of covers and some of my original songs and that’s what we will be doing at Middleton.
“Ben Arthur used to come to Club Cotherstone and I performed with him when I was 13.
“When Cotherstone stopped, he moved to the Workingmen’s Club.
“I was supposed to be supporting him, but Michael [Carr] rang and asked would I like to headline the show, which is quite a special thing. I’m nervous but looking forward to playing to a home crowd again.”
Singer song writer Sam Nixon, from Romaldkirk, will be providing support, performing some of his original numbers.
Admission to the showcase is £5.
Doors open at 7.30pm.
