AWARD-winning pianist Clare Hammond will present a wide ranging programme of classical music when she performs at The Witham tonight, Wednesday, September 5.

Winner of the Royal Philharmonic Society’s Young Artist Award, the internationally acclaimed concert pianist comes to Barnard Castle with a programme that showcases the range of expression and imagination possible on the piano.

With the programme including the romanticism of Rachmaninov’s second piano sonata, stately poise of Haydn’s Sonata in C major and Debussy’s portrayal of a fireworks display in Paris, the audience is in for a delightful evening of music.

Ms Hammond will perform Haydn’s Sonata in C major, Mendelssohn’s The Bee’s Wedding Op. 67, and Chopin’s Études.

She will also play a selection from Debussy’s prelude, Rimsky-Korsakov’s Flight of the Bumblebee and Rachmaninov’s Piano Sonata No. 2 in B flat minor.
