WILDLIFE ART: Middleton-in-Teesdale artist Holly Scott is to take part in a prestigious exhibition at Tennants Auctioneers

FRESH from her success at the Great North Art Show at Ripon Cathedral last month where she was named best newcomer, Teesdale-based artist Holly Scott is to feature in another big exhibition.

Miss Scott, who is chairwoman of Teesdale ArtNet (TAN), said she was delighted with her award, which she described as unexpected. She added: “It was a great honour to be selected to exhibit alongside some of the finest artists in the north. I’m overwhelmed by the interest in and positive feedback about my work.

“To be awarded the best newcomer prize is fantastic. Corvids tend to elicit strong opinions, so its great to know that so many people share my fascination with these birds and could relate to my subject matter with so much affection.”

Miss Scott will join two other talented printmakers from the region for her next exhibition, The Art of Print at Tennants Auctioneers, in Leyburn. The exhibition, which runs from Wednesday, November 20 until Saturday, December 1, will also see works from Stuart Brocklehurst and Snow and Crow Printmakers Helen and Alan Holcroft. Prior to the exhibition Miss Scott is also leading art workshops at the TCR Hub in Barnard Castle on Saturday, October 26, alongside other TAN artists.
