Police investigate wanton cruelty

POLICE are seeking information on



“a bizarre act of cruelty” discovered at lunchtime on Sunday, May 5. At 12.30pm, temporary fencing at allotments off Victoria Street, in Barnard Castle, was found broken down, and two hens were discovered, tied up and taped inside plastic bags. Fortunately, the birds were not killed, and anyone with information is asked to contact Barnard Castle police office, (01833 637328).
