Gainford pupils jump to it

Feb 26, 2003

ALL the school jumped to it at Gainford on Tuesday afternoon, when it came to raising money for the British Heart Foundation and for new sports equipment for themselves.

The whole school took part in a sponsored skipping event, the Jump Rope for Heart Appeal, which will give 75% of the proceeds to the BHF, with the rest going to the school, probably towards new basket balls.

“Not only is it raising money for charity and also for the school, it is keeping the children healthy at the same time,” said head teacher, Howard Blindt. “We have achieved a healthy school standard, and this fits in very well.”
