Start-up praise from MP

Feb 5, 2003

TEESDALE businesses were singled out for praise by local MP, Derek Foster, on Friday.

Mr Foster visited Enterprise House, Barnard Castle, to celebrate the success of the Enterprise Agency and its effectiveness in setting up new start-up businesses.

“This is particularly important because the North-East is one of the worst regions in Europe for setting up businesses,” he said. “Teesdale is really showing the rest of the region how to do it.

“What the Teesdale Mercury is doing is also very important, as it is telling people about the success of new businesses. More and more people are considering setting up on their own because they have an example of the success of others.”
