Photo shoot surprise leaves villagers blushing

Sep 9, 2010

RESIDENTS say they got a shock when a group of “dancers” turned up for a saucy photo shoot in their village.

A group of attractive women, who were dressed as cowgirls, knocked on Andrew Glover’s front door in Hamsterley.

They asked whether they could have their photo taken with a horse for a “brochure”.

The Glover family say they agreed and then looked in surprise as the women revealed themselves.

Mr Glover said: “They seemed respectable from the front but following the group down to the stables she then spotted a key collective wardrobe malfunction.

“They were wearing riding chaps but nowt else baring their cheeks to the world – and to two astonished tradesmen building a fence in the garden.

“My youngest son, who is 11, also helpfully pointed this out: ‘They’ve forgotten to put their pants on, mum’.”

Mr Glover, who was at work at the time, said the women had been booked in for “dance rehearsals” at the village hall, across the room from his house.

Mr Glover, who runs a media company, said his other son, who is aged 13, has “not been the same” since the incident.

His said his son has since posted a message on his Facebook site. It reads: “Result! A strip club just came 2 our door askin if they can have some fotos in our field! Get in.”

And Mr Glover joked that his only regret was not being at home when the women visited.

He added that the women, who were accompanied by two men, said they had been rehearsing for a European tour and wanted to take some publicity shots.

He said: “What may have appeared on the village hall booking sheet as ‘dance rehearsals’ turned out to be something slightly more provocative and revealing – literally.”

Jaquie Holloway, from Hamsterley Village Hall, was unavailable for comment. But her husband, Neil, said he was unaware of the group in question.
