Public meeting on EU grant

Sep 11, 2002

THERE is a public meeting at Gainford village hall on Monday at 7pm. People living in the wards of Barnard Castle East and West, Gainford and Winston, Ingleton, Startforth East, Startforth with Boldron, and Streatlam and Whorlton are invited to discuss sharing almost £200,000 of European Funding. Teesdale regeneration officer, Ann Johnstone, says the council wants to ensure the money is at least used to a maximum effect and for projects that the community wants.

For further information about the meeting, including transport assistance, and details of suggested projects contact Teesdale Social Inclusion Worker, Sandra Moorhouse (07889 787090), who will be at the meeting with colleague, Gillian Fortune.

• The council, in partnership with Teesdale Access Forum, is also providing grant assistance for Cockfield and Evenwood businesses to provide improved access to their premises for disabled people. Application forms can be obtained from Teesdale council’s planning section.
