Fraud squad probe

A FRAUD squad investigation is underway in Teesdale into the alleged theft of clients’ funds by an accountant.

Det Insp Colin Gibson, head of Durham Constabulary’s Economic Crime Unit, confirmed an investigation had begun in the dale: “As a result of that inquiry an accountant has been interviewed by detectives from the fraud squad in relation to the alleged theft of clients’ funds,” he said. “Our inquiries are continuing.”
