We do love to be beside the fireside

THE seaside came to Barnard Castle this week at Kirklands Nursery.

The staff and the children were so fed up with the wet weather they brought a pile of sand into the nursery so that the children could go to the beach indoors!

“We were so cheesed off with the weather we decided to make the room into a beach,” said Janice Duffy-McGhie, the manager of the nursery. “The children love it, it’s a real change to what they usally do.”

The children all brought along swimsuits and towels and were treated to ice-creams and took part in themed activities.
