IT took Geoff Dixon only two hours to bring Stone Age man back to Barnard Castle.
In Mr Dixon’s film, three prehistoric men stumble in the town centre after a night out – moments before police arrive to arrest them.
The mini-masterpiece, which was posted on film-sharing website YouTube last week, also features Mr Dixon riding on a polar bear in Barnard Castle.
It is the latest YouTube film to be created by the entrepreneur and follows his wife’s unsuccessful Big Brother audition video – a film that has been viewed nearly 5,000 times on E4’s website.
He said: “The latest one is just a bit of fun and a mickey take really. I get bored easily and I made it late at night.
“Stone Age man in Barney after a night out – that’s quite apt, isn’t it? I’ve been there myself many times.”
Life in Bars, a parody of BBC show Life on Mars, lasts just over a minute.
In the film, Mr Dixon is taken back in time when he is knocked over by a car. He rides on a polar bear and his wife, Denise, appears on the set of The Wizard of Oz.
The film was created to mark his 50th birthday and more are planned when his friends reach the landmark.
“I did mine first to show my friends what it’s all about. It’s a little hobby of mine to keep me busy at two in the morning when I can’t sleep.”
Mr Dixon explained the trickery behind the film, which includes scenes from The Golden Compass.
“I’ve got a still camera that records 30-second videos. I filmed myself in front of my green wallpaper so I could superimpose myself on other films.
“All I needed was the right computer programme,” said Mr Dixon, who lives in Castle Court.
Mr Dixon was a former director of Chocpix, of Barnard Castle, which made a deal with Comic Relief last year, in which chocolates that revealed a 3D picture when held up to the light, were given away with red noses.
