Villagers to celebrate 60th anniversary

Jun 30, 2008

THE people of Barningham are set to mark an anniversary, and want former residents to help them celebrate.

It is sixty years since Barningham village hall was handed over to the village. To mark the occasion, there will be a sports day with teas, and old photographs of the village will be displayed.

The hall was once a school owned by the Millbank family, who gave it to the village in 1948. Old photographs of the village will also be on display.

Ann Orton, member of the village hall committee, said: "We are hoping that people who have moved away from Barningham will come back to the village for the day to help us celebrate".

The event takes place on Sunday, July 13, at 2.30pm at Barningham Village Hall. Call 01833 621024 for information.
