Staindrop gets ready for Carnival Day

Jul 10, 2002

THREE Staindrop students are proud to be part of this Saturday`s historic carnival in the village and were willing to get up early on Sunday morning to prove it!

The queen and her attendants posed for photographs for the Mercury to publicise the events which continue all week, with the grand procession through the village on Saturday at 1.30pm. Owing to a late change of plan, walkers and jazz bands now need to assemble at Hartley Close, and all vehicles at the former Raby Sawmill, by 1pm please to ensure a prompt start at 1.30pm. Please note that Sudburn Ave will not now be an assembly point as previously arranged.
