Dale thefts may be linked, say police

THEFTS from twobuilding sites and a third from a farm outbuilding in the dale may be linked, police warned today.

The building site raids both took place during the weekend.

One took place from a plot in Cockfield, when insulation and building stone was taken.

The second occurred at Baldersdale, when lead, Velux windows and a cement mixer were stolen.

Sgt Harry Marshsaid a white flat-bed tipper truck had been seen in the area which may have been involved in the incidents.

The farm theft happened in Boldron some time on Friday or Saturday, June 13 and 14.

Items taken included a red Lawn Chief lawnmower, a petrol driven strimmer, a still chain saw and two gents' mountain bikes, one a red and silver Barracuda model and theother a black Giant make.

Sgt Marsh warned anyone involved in building projects to be vigilant.
