A GROUP of youths who smashed three windows of an Arriva bus while it was pulling away from the centre of a dale village are being hunted.The incident happened at about 11.15pm on Friday, May 23, but was only reported to police after the bank holiday weekend.
Sgt Kevin Henry, of Barnard Castle police, said the incident happened after a group of three to four girls had been talking to a group of male youths in Front Street, Cockfield, outside the Co-op store.
He said the girls then got on the bus and as it was pulling away, the youths threw objects at the vehicle, causing the windows to break.
Sgt Henry said no-one was injured in the incident.
It is not know how many other passengers were on the bus at the time, but police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to come forward.
