Double fun at Startforth

IT was fun in the sun at Startforth on Saturday, where the church fete was combined with the village jubilee celebrations in the village school and grounds.

There were stalls, sideshows, rides, slides, children¹s races and a free bouncy castle as well as children¹s show, disco and teddy bears¹ picnic,

plus a fancy dress competition.

For the slightly older there was an evening ceilidh, bar and barbecue, followed by a fireworks finale.

And for those feeling slightly guilty (or the worse for wear!) there was a

parish boundary walk and sponsored children¹s walk the next day.
