A military macaw escaped from a house in
Woodland at lunchtime on Monday.
The bird is green with white cheeks and black stripes, and makes a raucous
noise when flying.
Mr Doug Grey, of
Middleton-in-Teesdale, sent a photograph into the
Mercury of a brightly-coloured parakeet he spotted near his cottage on
Friday, but he has not seen it since.
TWO people were arrested in
Newbiggin-in-Teesdale on Monday, on suspicion of
taking a car without the owner¹s consent, and being in possession of drugs.
A BLUE Volkswagen car in Vere Road,
Barnard Castle, was damaged sometime
between 9am and 5.30pm on Friday.
THE rear window of a Toyota Corolla, parked in
Gainford between 7pm-9pm on
Friday, was smashed.
A SILVER Renault Laguna was stolen from
Woodland overnight on Thursday.
ELECTRIC fencing and a stand alone 12volt battery were stolen from a private
farm property at Low Hulam,
Ingleton, between June 7-20.
