High-flyer at the age of 74

May 22, 2002

A Teesdale grandmother who became an air stewardess at the age of 74, was last night poised to become a TV high-flyer following her starring role in a Channel 4 documentary.

The story of how Dorothy Morton, of High Etherley, came to “win her wings” and serve as part of the cabin crew on a holiday flight out of Newcastle last year, was due to be told in Working With Dinosaurs yesterday (Tuesday) on C4 at 8pm.

Dorothy, who has always firmly believed that age is no barrier to being active and having fun, told the Mercury: “I will not be pigeon-holed. I am not invisible just because I am older, and I still have excellent health and a very positive attitude.”
