THE circus came to Richmond, but not the type of circus you would expect. This circus was not filled with acrobats and clowns showing amazing feats of strength and dexterity, this was filled with Geeks. Greek Geeks to be exact. Here to tell us some of the greatest stories in the world filled with adventure, mystery and love. This was the latest production by Georgian Theatre Royal Youth Theatre. Circus Olympus is filled with Greek Geeks who have the job of telling Greek Myths. The cast burst onto the stage full of life and we soon discover that before anything can happen they must decide ‘Who is Zeus tonight?' Manso, played by Andrew Backhouse, is soon selected as Zeus and we are off on a quick trip round a few Greek Myths. Demeter and the Underworld gets us off to a speedy start before we move into a comical Perseus and Medusa. The second half begins with Athena and Arachne, ending with the golden touch of Midas.
The show was lively, colourful and educational. There were many magnificent performances. It is always great to see young people with such enthusiasm and talent.
