THRILLER Live is a celebration of the musical talent of Michael Jackson. I must admit I was expecting a bit more than just the music so was disappointed that there was not more information about the man himself, but on reflection with the turbulent life he has had you wouldn’t want to be reminded of it all.This is really just a concert featuring many of his greatest hits starting with The Jackson 5. There were 5 Michael Jacksons which included a young Michael, a dancing Michael and a female Michael.
It did at times feel as if you were sitting in the corner of a nightclub watching the dance floor. Though towards the end of the second half the pace picked up and the audience got more involved. There were a couple of fantastically produced numbers my favourite being Smooth Criminal.
This show is certainly aimed as a high tech show which is well staged with effective lighting, visual effects and pyrotechnics, but for me the quality of the performances just wasn’t there.
