Allinson family of Romaldkirk

Mrs C Greenhow
27 Aug 2009
I have been trying to trace the family tree of Thomas Allinson who was a boot and shoemaker and I wondered if any readers/cousins? remember the family? I believe he was born at Romaldkirk and travelled over to Westmorland. I have no idea if he had siblings. He met his wife Anna Isabella (Bella) Carter who may have been in service at Warcop Hall. They lived at Dufton in the 1901 Census when they were both about 25 or 26 yrs old. He then moved to Temple Sowerby and ran his business there. His wife Bella died and c.1926 he remarried his housekeeper Amy(Amelia?)Jane Guy.He was also a methodist preacher at one time. They both died around 1950 at Temple Sowerby. His mother may have been called Jane Allinson or possibly Jane Metcalf/e? I understand that there are connections to Frosterley too with possibly my great grandmother(no name) being buried there. If any one has any information please e mail me or write to me at 6 Clifford St, Appleby, CA16 6TS. Thank you
Christine Greenhow
