Constantly getting shouted at by some of the older generation, as if we were Savage beasts. do we deserve this?
My name is Philip Bacon, I’m 14 years old and I’m writing from mine and all of my friend’s experience. And yes I have experience and I’m under 50, Wow! that Kids in Barnard castle are not given an easy time.
Previously this week we have had over 10 complaints from people with too much time on their hands, or people who just want to pick on some one smaller than them: ‘Get of the path’, ‘get off the grass’, and people just who want us to go away. I’m banned from Teesdale Sport Centre’s skate park for six months (for not wearing a hot, chunky, helmet in the red-hot heat). So tell us where are we meant to go?
Earlier this week a man in his 40’s stood on my feet and threatened to slap me, then he tripped my friend off his skateboard. I had a woman send her child over to hit me. We had two dog walkers shout in our face threatening that they were going to call the police because we were apparently tearing up the grass and destroying the peace, this wasn’t true and the language they use is gross.
I would like to thank all of the people that are kind to us and take an interest in what we do, we really appreciate it. And in future if you want to approach us, approach us politely and considerately, and we will be polite and considerate back.
