Carers in Teesdale

Brian Evans

I do not know on what basis Durham County Council decided to allocate the "Carers" contract to a non local firm but I do firmly belief that LOCAL is best for many reasons. The owners of Castle Care and Midleton Care have worked hard to build up their business and now they are expected to hand over their businesses lock, stock and barrel. (will there be compensation) Durham County Council is quoted as being responsible for the decision but the council decides nothing, people do, so who is the person who decided and can that person explain the benefits that will accrue by this un-asked for change.
The old and needy are currently well served by Castle Care and Middleton Care and they should be allowed to continue with this LOCAL care.
Is this the beginning of "New Thinking" by Durham County Council regarding affairs in Teesdale
