losing another tourist attraction

Alan & Yvonne Taylor

BOTH my wife and I were saddened to hear that the Otter Sanctuary is closing down.
We visit Teesdale on numerous occasions throughout the year, staying at a lovely cottage in Mickleton.
We visited the sanctuary in August 2005 and had a lovely morning there. Seeing the otters at such close proximity was very enjoyable and something we will never forget.
We love Teesdale – the countryside around Barney is absolutly breathtaking.
We are in the process of booking our summer and Christmas holidays in Mickleton and cannot wait to get back up there.
We love the area so much we have the Mercury delivered weekly to our home in Barnsley, South Yorkshire just to keep up with what is happening in the area we call our second home.

Will lives be put at risk by the plans to downgrade Bishop Auckland’s A&E ward?
